چکیده
The purpose of this paper is to develop AA5052 aluminum alloy solid disc from machining wastes via friction stir consolidation (FSC) process & optimize its parameters: die rotational speed, pre-compact aspect ratio and processing time. At first, the required dedicated tooling designed built. Then, discs are fabricated chips using FSC process. Taguchi L9 orthogonal array used analyze Experimental parameters their levels considered speed (315, 400 500 rpm), (25.4/7, 25.4/5 25.4/3) time (30, 45 60 sec). Using standard tests, compressive strength, hardness microstructure consolidated evaluated. results reveal that successfully tooling, (500 (25.4/3) (60 sec) optimal conditions. Microstructure examination shows finer fully recrystallized grains in axial cross section orientation. Moreover, show strength comparable forged or cast suitable for most engineering structural applications.

Analysis and Comparison of Friction Stir Welding and Laser Assisted Friction Stir Welding of Aluminum Alloy
Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a solid-state joining process; i.e., no melting occurs. The welding process is promoted by the rotation and translation of an axis-symmetric non-consumable tool along the weld centerline. Thus, the FSW process is performed at much lower temperatures than conventional fusion welding, nevertheless it has some disadvantages. Laser Assisted Friction Stir Welding (LAFS...

متن کاملStudying the Possibility to Weld AA1100 Aluminum Alloy by Friction Stir Spot Welding
Abstract—Friction stir welding is a modern and an environmentally friendly solid state joining process used to joint relatively lighter family of materials. Recently, friction stir spot welding has been used instead of resistance spot welding which has received considerable attention from the automotive industry. It is environmentally friendly process that eliminated heat and pollution. In this...
متن کاملTwo-dimensional Mapping of Residual Strains in 6061-t6 Aluminum Alloy Friction Stir Welds
The residual strain profiles were measured through the thickness of friction-stir welded (FSW) plates using neutron diffraction to study the relationship between the angular distortion and the residual strain distribution. Three different weld specimens were prepared from a 6061-T6 aluminum alloy with the purpose of separating the effects of the frictional heat and plastic deformation on the re...
